VIDEO: Tiger shark beaches in shallows in search of meal

Nothing could keep a massive tiger shark from engorging itself on a beached whale carcass, not even the threat of dry land.

This video, taken recently along the coast of Mozambique by Lorrayne Gaymer, shows a 13-foot tiger shark swimming  into extremely shallow water in order to bite off a few chunks of flesh from the estimated 60,000 pound humpback whale carcass.

“As the tide changed the whale carcass drifted towards the beach and this is when the sharks risked their lives to get a final feast from it,” Gaymer said in her post.

After being tossed around in the heavy surf, the shark can be seen swimming back out to deep water unharmed, and well-fed.
