VIDEO: Shark goes after boat motor

A fisherman in the Bahamas might have found a new bait when it comes to catching sharks. Although if he wants to catch a monster, he’s going to need a bigger boat.

In a post that has now gone viral with over 14,000 shares, James Munroe shared video of what appears to be an adolescent lemon shark clamping down on the lower unit of his boat’s motor and refusing to let go as the engine is lifted out of the water.

Munroe was fishing off the coast of Current Island in the Grand Bahamas when he hooked into the approximately four foot shark. After cutting it free, the shark went after the submerged motor and refused to let go.

“I was so shocked,” Munroe tole Tribune 242. “I didn’t expect that at all. I cut the line and shook the engine slightly and he came off.”

As of Monday, the Facebook post has received nearly 2,000 comments.
