A video making the rounds on social media this week shows an approximately 10-foot great white shark attacking a commercial fisherman’s net as he was retrieving it off the coast of Port Pirie, Australia.
Nic Wilks, who was fishing with his father, posted the video on Instagram. After Wilks fought the fish off initially, it returned in hopes of another free meal.
“Apparently the shark hadn’t had enough so he came back, and when he was right by the boat, Dad tried to ward him off with a swift punch to the nose”, Wilks told BuzzFeed. “And so the shark didn’t like that very much and went berserk, and that’s when he grabbed the net.”
