Thresher shark leaps into fisherman’s dinghy

Two south Australian fishermen got quite the scare when a nearly 10-foot thresher shark leaped into their boat while fishing less than a mile off shore of Port MacDonnell in Southern Australia.

“The next thing all I could see over his left shoulder was this head, these two big black eyes and a mouth and the shark’s coming straight at me,” Jim Ewing told 7 News.

After the shark leapt into the boat, the pair were unable to return it into the water and attempted to return to shore so that they could pull the flailing animal from their vessel. The shark did not survive that trip.
