Shark photobombs young surfer in Australia

While photographing his 10-year-old son while he was surfing in the waves off Samurai Beach in North Sydney, Australia, Chris Hasson noticed something in the barrel his son, Eden, was riding.

An unidentified shark, approximately eight or nine feet in length, was rolling in the wave just feet from Eden’s surfboard.

“If I was on the wave and saw it, I probably would’ve freaked out and fell off,” Eden told 9 News Australia. “I was lucky I didn’t fall off.”

The father quickly beckoned his son to come out of the water and posted the images he took to his Facebook page. The child was not injured and based on evaluations from shark experts, the shark did not appear to be in predatory mode and had likely just become embroiled in the wake.
