OCEARCH is returning to the Canadian coast in search of great white sharks for Expedition Nova Scotia 2020.
OCEARCH’s two previous expeditions exposed Nova Scotia as a hotspot for white sharks and now the new expedition, OCEARCH’s 39th, will aim to increase the size of tagged and sampled sharks in order to develop the most advanced understanding yet of white shark biology, physiology, health, behavior and more.
The voyage will start in Main-a-a-dieu and end in Lunenburg while supporting 21 research projects, 35 scientists, and 24 institutions. The vital data gathered during this expedition will be used to guide responsible public safety and conservation policies.
