The Baby Shark from the annoyingly eponymous little ditty just went full Elmo.
The Baby Shark Singing Plush Doll from WowWee, which was only available during an Amazon presale, sold out in less than 72 hours and left parents scrambling online like the internet version of “Jingle All The Way.”
Within hours, the yellow “baby” version of the toy, which initially retailed for $16.99, had been listed by Amazon re-sellers and other auction sites for over $250. A Korean-speaking version is still available on Amazon, however, with only a modest mark up.
Pinkfong’s “Baby Shark” video has been viewed on YouTube more than 3.3 billion times to become the bane of parents around the globe. Despite the song itself being nearly 20 years old, Baby Shark became a kinderpop pop culture phenomenon, inspiring numerous covers and parodies.
